The Return of Pacey Witter, The “Female Drake Business Plan”, and late night videos with the idol gang?
I don’t know why this was happening…. BUT THANK GOD IT WAS!!!
I’m not a Comic-Con fan…. But it is inevitable to run into articles about it amongst my fidelity to other things pop culture.
And by chance (and I’m convinced pure fate) I came across this:

Yes people… that is Joshua Jackson, or as I still call him, Pacey, in full on 1998 garb. He was rocking the pale-blue button down (which I am confident is straight from the actual Capeside wardrobe trailer) and Khakis. Apparently Mr. Witter was there on the Comic-Con lawn and was participating in Pacey-Con (let’s send out a prayer now this takes place annually) taking pictures with fans and handing out fan fiction he wrote himself. Again, I have no idea why this was going on…. but who the F cares?!?!? It’s Pacey. I still think my high school experience was deficient due to the fact he wasn’t my dreamy boyfriend. So bravo Pacey for bringing back… well… Pacey! We have missed you, and might I add, the Pacey with scruff is even better! (I wonder if Miss Jacobs was anywhere in sight??)
** UPDATE ** The pop culture god’s are shining down on us because there is video of Pacey-Con! My Beloved Pacey discusses the fact that he is “the greatest character in television history. ever. period.” amidst slow-mo special effects and Paula Cole’s “I Don’t Wanna Wait”. Thanks to Funnyordie.com
On a serious note, (not that my devout love for Pacey is not a serious matter), whoever the music supervisor is for So You Think You Can Dance, should get a raise. I only watch the show sporadically (mainly because I know absolutely nothing about dancing and anyone on that stage is already infinitely better than I am, and it makes me jealous, so who am I to judge?) and when I watch it, it’s mostly to hear the new music that comes with the killer dances. SYTYCD has shoved the careers of OneRepublic (“Apologize”), Adele (“Hometown Glory”) and even the Gaga, who had her 1st televised US performance thanks to SYTYCD.
My newest pop confection is the hauntingly, beautiful ballad by Christina Perri, “Jar of Hearts”. A demo version was heard, and Christina Perri was asked to quickly record a professional version so dancers Billy Bell and Kathryn McCormick could use it. The song exploded! It was #13 on iTunes, #23 on Billboard Hot Digital Songs Chart and even #58 on Billboard’s Hot 100. Oh and it sold 100,000 copies…. But wait for it, it gets better: THIS CHICK DOESN’T HAVE A RECORD DEAL! Her and Drake should get together and sing about it! At the end of summer she will release her independent EP…. But I’d put money on it that she will sign her name “beside the X like Malcom”, before the heat wave is over. Check out “Jar of Hearts” below.
** UPDATE ** An update to dat blog reader posted a comment that Perri has indeed been signed to Atlantic Records (Thanks for the info!!) lets hope they do a good job promoting her!!
And one final note… the season 9 Idol boys have taken to starring in their very own webisodes of “Late Night (insert something funny)”. There is a series of “Late Night Sandwiches” and my favorite is “Late Night Pecs”. I have no idea why they do this… apparently it is some long standing inside joke with getting Tim Urban to show us his chest. (And yes we are talking about Tim Urban: the missing Jonas Brother currently parading around in highlights that he stole from JC Chasez in 1999). Anyway… this is the most virally connected idol gang so enjoy “LATE NIGHT PECS” (say with overly manly voice for full effect)

Christina Perri signed to Atlantic Records about 4-5 days ago!
She’ll be on Jay Leno tonight!
