Rocco's Pop Revolution: Seen through the eyes of someone living it

Lee D. And Rocco’s 1st Fight

Posted on: November 30, 2010

Wow. First argument. Didn’t think it would happen so soon.

Word on the street is Lee bear’s next single is “O Holy Night”. That’s dumb. Ok, that was harsh…. not dumb… just not the smartest move.

I release what I want

All Access and  a Lee fan site state these “facts”. And some for some reason I guess this picture proves something.

Again, who knows if this is fo sho… but I certainly hope not.

Not, that I don’t love his version, it’s wonderful…. but for Christmas. And since Christmas is 1 day in December this makes no sense. And to be fair, we’ll say it’s marketable for the whole month of December…. but that’s pretty much it.

Release the song for purchase definitely (fans will scoop that up)… but don’t expect it to boost sales and/or gather up new fans. I think you may have to release an actual song off of Live It Up for that to be done.

Oh no. I googled “Lee DeWyze Christmas” hoping to find a picture of him in a santa hat (don’t ask me why I thought there’d be a picture like that… but you’d be amazed at the things you can find on Google) and this is what I saw. This might be real. (if not… nice graphic design stranger)

Well, either way I guess it is more music that we wouldn’t have anyway. But I think he should release TWO songs… a song from Live It Up and then his Christmas jam…. or one of his old ones from back in the day. Make it THREE songs Lee bear.

Oh and you have to wear this sweater for the whole month.

Okay… we are friends again. *Pound it*

This seems more like RCA’s idea than Lee’s. They haven’t been the sharpest tool in the shed when it comes to promoting his album. I’m like you – I like OHN cause Lee D did it, but come on . . . he’s got some fantastic original songs on his album that should be his next single. (BTW I think they should really push the 1st single BEFORE they start a 2nd single – just a thought). Geez Rocco, maybe we should take over managing Lee Bear :)

of course it was RCA’s idea. i guess music is music and therefore exposure… but like you said there is plenty of good songs on the album.
hahhah I would love for him to sign my paycheck

I have been constantly frustrated with RCA’s lack of insight into promoting Lee….they should clue in to listen to the fans..we do all the blogging and know what’s going on in the real world beyond their scope…any song off the album would be good for next single..hopefully that will be the next move…soon…or I nominate Rocco for a

No need to panic… they just mean it in a “Hey you love Lee DeWyze, right?? Well HERE’S a nice shiny Christmas song!!! :D

It’s not technically his 2nd ‘single’…. everything will be A-OK ;) His second single will of course be something from LIU, probably won’t happen until after the winter freeze. In the new year they might push SS harder or a new song… MAMJ perhaps ;)

Thanks Cristi – that’s good to know . . whew. I’m hoping they do finally start pushing SS. Until they do, I’m hitting up the VH1 Top 20 voting pretty hard.

Who knows. If the video does well on VH1, RCA might feel inspired to keep buttering up the PDs and having more radio stations add the song.

whew…your right….man we just care so darn much!!!

we can think of it as a stocking stuffer (and to whatever equivalent other holidays use) :)

I didn’t believe it when I first saw this piece of “news” on MJ’s earlier today. It just doesn’t make sense, even though ’tis the season to sing that kind of ditties. RCA has seemed clueless as far as promoting Lee Bear’s debut album is concerned, but the label can’t be so stupid as to throw out a song that’s not on LIU as the 2nd single unless it wants people to believe it really is a nuthouse. (Actually I’m warming to some serious conspiracy theories concerning this LIU marketing fiasco right now.) I agree with all of you, any other song on this album is good enought as the next single, but RCA should really push SS harder during the holiday season and release the 2nd single afterwards. Maybe when Lee and the band start touring? Just a thought.
