Lee D. Wrote A Song Because He Was Inspired By Dawson’s Creek
Posted on: March 15, 2011
I’m not sure if it was for Dawson Leery, Joey Potter, Pacey Witter, or Jen Lindley…. hell, it might have even been for Jack McPhee (who doesn’t love the gay football player??<— Jack was one of the best additions to this show.. and yes that’s directed to Busy Philips who never belonged) All I know is Lee D. has a certain song that would have been on the Dawson’s Creek soundtrack if he existed at the same time and if I had anything to do with it.
I’m an avid DC fan… I know a lot about that show and I pretty much shaped my high school career after it. I begged my parents to move somewhere with a creek, so I could become an avid row-boater like Ms. Potter. (we did not… I couldn’t row a boat if you paid me). And like Felicity… this show answered some life questions like, do you go sailing with your high school boyfriend the summer before senior year?? The answer to that is always yes! You always choose Pacey Witter! ALWAYS!
Anyway… I don’t know Lee D’s feeling on Dawson’s Creek beyond the fact that he obviously loved the show because of this song (I’ll ask him to go into details during Interview Jamboree which may just end up being an in-depth discussion panel on Dawson’s Creek.)
Anyway, as I was walking to work today, “The Problem Is You” came on my iPod. Now, I’ll admit, I usually hit next when this comes on… I’m not sure I’ve ever heard it before.. but when fate told me to listen to it today… I just thought Dawson’s Creek! I immediately whipped out my idea book and wrote ” Lee D/Dawson’s Creek/Prob is you/<3″ <—- swear to Oprah that’s what I wrote, and then almost got hit by a biker who was riding his bike on the sidewalk… ummmm?? NOT ALLOWED!
I can’t find the full audio of the song…. so you are gonna have to click HERE to hear a snippet of it. I promise you it’s worth it. (Plus, you all own So I’m Told so it’s fine…. you know what I’m talking about.
If you all don’t agree with my music supervision that just occurred for the Dawson’s Creek Vol 4 soundtrack… I dont’ know if we can continue on like this.
Doesn’t it sound like a song that would be montaged with images of Jack dealing with homosexuality, Pacey pining for Joey, but can’t quite have her yet because Joey is trying to fix her friendship with that selfish baby Dawson, and Jen will be dealing with her Daddy issues with the help of Gram???
Yes. A resounding yes is what you should all be saying right about now.
(that’s Lee D. giving me a resounding “yes” by the way)
I’ll just let that sink in and sit back waiting for your agreement and applause.
-Rocco
PS I had absolutely nothing to say about Lee D. today and this is the result that. He should probably do something or I’m gonna do a compare and contrast of him and Ben Covington from Felicity next.

Whatever you say, Rocco. I trust your judgment. But please don’t get mad at me because I’ve yet to see that show. So, no comment on Dawson’s Creek. But I love The Problem Is You. Reminds me of a girl I dated in college, who said “It’s not you” when she broke up with me. Haha!
[...] Though, that one post was super truthful and shed some light on who Lee D. is as a person deep down. Check it all out HERE. [...]
Holy Moly! This is my Heaven!!!
A whole post full of Creek-isms and a link to Lee! WOW! I don’t know what to say…except, please feel free to post pics of Josh Jackson anytime you want!
Remember, I’m the late-to-the-Lee-train girl, so I had never heard that song before. I agree, it would have worked beautifully with the pining, sexual orientation confusion, breakups, love triangles, even that annoying Andy (she didn’t deserve Pacey!)… “Ask me to stay”!!! Priceless!
Rocco, this was truly written with love and a thesaurus.
P.S. I still die laughing everytime I think of that post of yours about the Colbie Caillat/Lee concert promotional write-up!!! Funny, my husband even says that line now and we both crack up!
Awww the wall Pacey bought for Joey! Good times, good times! One of my fav eps is when Joey and Pacey get locked in the store over night!! Love it and love them
OMO this is like heaven for me! Lee DeWyze and Dawson’s Creek all in one!! lol
Pacey for the win!! Loved Pacey and joey together more then Dawson and Joey!
RIP Mitch Leery
I cried my eyes out like a little girl when he died and when Jen died at the end of the show
brings a tear to my eye just thinking of it
Really? You can’t ride your bike on the sidewalks? That’s weird lol
That pic of bear in the woods with the comment “Where’s the damn creek” is perfect!! You’re hilarious!!
Yes this song is so fitting for DC!!
You just totally made my day with this
Oh, I’m just lovin’ all the DC love! And, why were we all in the minority as Pacey/Joey fans?! Come on! At least, I felt I was the only one rooting for them. Dawson was a tool…
Yeah, the finale killed me, but I was over the moon when it was Pacey on the couch next to Joey watching “The Creek” in the end! Good times, good times…
Cari, I love how you called it “heaven” just like I did! So glad I have a place to come to where others share my brain!
Rocco, I sooooo love that Funny or Die segment! I posted that sucker all over FB last year!
Rocco and Jen:
The series finale was heart breaking then heart healing all in one! I love how Jack ended up with Pacey’s brother!! And how Jen had Jack take her baby when she died, best dissension she made in the whole show! I like Dawson until he slept with Jen lol I think I like Pacey with Joey because he was a romantic like the whole “buying her a wall” thing. I imagined it was me sitting there on the couch when they showed Pacey lol Oh and Jen I wrote “this is like heaven for me!” before I even read yours lol great minds think alike lol oh and I totally agree Andy DID NOT deserve Pacey at all but I did think the whole Pacey and the teacher thing was funny lol Aww see what you started Rocco?? I could talk about this show all night lol
I could talk about this show all night, too! I must pull out my DC DVD’s! Rocco, you are right, Season 3 is my favorite! I still quote lines from this show — I’ve seen all the episodes so many times.
Yes, Pacey was so sweet and romantic with Joey. And, he’s a “face grabber” — ya know, always touching the girl’s face as he brings her in to kiss her! *sigh* That is fabulous!!!
I think if we all got in the same room together we would just explode with so many similarities!
YES!!! face grabber… *big sigh* all men should take notes from Pacey….
Oh I so forgot about AJ lol
Man I need to go out and buy all the seasons AGAIN….
all my dvd’s got stolen and they were in with them
very very sad day for me but have no fear I WILL own them once again!! lol
Thank you girls for the fun trip down memory lane DC edition!!
OMO I just watched the link you posted lol so funny…. I think I want to marry him like for real! He would be so fun to be around all the time!

you, my friend, are a prophet
“the problem is you” is one of my favorite off his cd – such a different sound from lee d. btw you totally had me spitting out my tea over the caption, “where’s that damn creek?” hahaha!

hahahha i have to tell you … now it’s my favorite song! lol
i hope he found the creek

That is my favorite song too. I love the lyrics and I think Lee needs to do a duet on his next cd. Who would be good for him to sing with? Taylor Swift maybe? That would defiantly give people who haven’t heard how awesome he is yet a chance to appreciate Lee Bear. Btw, did you start calling him Lee Bear cuz he is so sweet like a teddy bear?

if he ever worked with taylor swift (even if it was just writing) i would explode. i think she’s the greatest thing on this planet. that should happen
and i called him lee bear because i have no idea why…lol i wish i had a good story for that reason… but i dont lol. but im sure he’s sweet like a teddy bear lol
