Zayn is so moody and angsty — oh excuse me, misunderstood— and it’s hilarious so I’m going to highlight his quote from this month’s Seventeen.

(They are out of control adorable. I can’t stand it.)

Zayn on his rep as the ‘bad boy’ of the band: “I like to use the term misunderstood. But I am a bit of a bad boy. I have tattoos and I mess around. That’s part of my image, so it’s cool.”

Just everything about that quote cracks me up. First off, he’s like NO! I’m misunderstood, not just a “bad boy”. He likes the class up the idea of “bad boy”. He’s so posh.

And second, “I mess around”, with what?  Fashion and dumb accessories? The only thing I’m misunderstanding about Zayn is his need to wear that hat for every promotional effort the boys are doing for their new album, Take Me Home (out November 13).

Zayn is winning the race in my head with his ridiculous-ness.
